We HIGHLY recommend the full preparation in order to assure maximum results and the highest possible total score. However, in some situations, a review of only one or two subject areas is ideal for the student to have them fully prepared.

SAT Subject Tests or SAT II's

  • SAT Subject Test (SATII) scores may also be required when preparing to apply to certain colleges. The SAT Subject Tests are multiple choice standardized tests given on individual subjects.
  • A student typically chooses which tests to take depending upon college entrance requirements for the schools to which he or she is planning to apply.  It is important to consult the school's website to find out more information about subject test requirements.
  • SAT Subject Tests are administered in October, November, December, January, May and June (on the same day the SAT is administered).
  • Students may take either an SAT or up to 3 SAT Subject Tests on one day.
  • Each test is a one-hour timed test.  If a student is taking more than one subject test, they can choose the order.
  • Creative Dimensions tutors the following SAT Subject Areas:
    • American History
    • World History
    • Literature
    • Math Level 1
    • Math Level 2
    • Physics
    • Chemistry
    • Spanish
One Subject Area
  • 5 1-hour private lessons
  • Recommended Schedule: One lesson per week starting 5 weeks prior to test date.
Two Subject Areas
  • 10 1-hour private lessons (5 in each subject)
  • Recommended Schedule: One lesson per week starting 10 weeks prior to test date, alternating each subject or two lessons per week starting 5 weeks prior to test date.
Three Subjects Areas
  • 15 1-hour private lessons (5 in each subject area)
  • Recommended Schedule: One or two lessons per week starting 10-15 weeks prior to test date for full preparation.  Lessons in the different subject areas would be distributed throughout the 10-15 weeks.
Creative Dimensions strongly recommends that Subject Tests are taken at the end of the year when a student completes the subject. You do not have to be a junior to take a subject test.  For example, if a 10th grader will be completing a chemistry course in June, they should consider taking the SAT Subject Test in chemistry.
